Astrophyllite is a rare titanium-iron potassium silicate mineral best known for its metallic, star-like crystal sprays. Its name comes from the Greek astron ("star") and phyllon ("leaf"), describing the radiating blades that often resemble a burst of stars. Fine specimens are found in only a handful of places worldwide, including Russia, Norway, Greenland, and a few localities in North America.
